Two websites both say “Seedance 2.0.” One accepts reference video and audio. The other offers only text and image. The model name looks the same, but the product experience is not.
The safest starting point is a first-party ByteDance product or a cloud platform linked from official documentation. Dreamina and CapCut are common consumer entry points, while BytePlus ModelArk is relevant to hosted developer access as it becomes available. A third-party platform can still be useful when it offers clearer access, several models, or a simpler workflow. Check what it actually provides before spending credits or uploading private assets.
This guide is current as of September 12, 2026. Availability, free credits, and version labels can change by region and account.
Use the dated checks below before every important project or client handoff.
The model and the platform are different
ByteDance creates the Seedance model. The access platform supplies the interface, account, payment system, storage, moderation, and export. It may expose only part of the model’s capability or add processing of its own.
That distinction explains why two Seedance pages can offer different durations, reference limits, resolution, watermarks, or queue times. It also determines who receives your uploaded face, product image, or client file. Always read the terms of the platform you use, not only the model announcement.

Where Seedance may be available
Use this table as a verification template rather than a permanent feature promise.
| Route | Typical user | What to verify | Main tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dreamina | Individual creator | Region, model label, references, credits, export | First-party workflow may vary by account |
| CapCut | Creator already editing in CapCut | Feature location, plan, export, regional access | Convenient editing, but version controls may differ |
| BytePlus ModelArk | Developer or business workflow | Live model ID, API region, pricing, retention | More setup and technical responsibility |
| Seedances.co | Individual creator wanting a web tool | Current provider/model label, credits, privacy, watermark | Independent third-party service |
| Other third-party platform | Multi-model user | Source model, version, markup, refund policy, data terms | Convenience adds another trust layer |
Before publication, add a “Last checked” date for each row and link directly to the provider’s privacy and pricing pages. Remove any provider that cannot show a working Seedance listing.
Dreamina and CapCut
Dreamina and CapCut sit inside ByteDance’s product ecosystem, which makes them logical places to check first. Dreamina publishes a Seedance workflow page and may expose generation features through a browser-based creative product. CapCut can connect generation to a familiar editing workflow, though availability and model labels may differ between web, desktop, mobile, regions, and account plans.
First-party does not mean identical. Confirm the exact model version displayed in the generation panel. Check whether the interface accepts text, images, video, or audio references. Review maximum duration, resolution, credit use, watermark, and commercial terms. A marketing page may describe a model capability that has not reached every user interface.
If the newest model does not appear, avoid unofficial workarounds. Look for an official rollout notice, check another first-party product, or use a reputable third-party option with clear disclosures.
Third-party web platforms
A third-party platform can place several AI video models behind one account. That is helpful when you want to test the same brief in Seedance, Kling, Runway, or another model without learning several interfaces. Some providers also simplify payment or offer access in a region where another product is unavailable.
The risks are practical. A provider may lag behind the newest Seedance version, rename a model, compress references, or apply its own generation defaults. Credits may include a markup. Failed generations may not be refunded. The site may retain inputs longer than expected or use a different moderation policy.
Look for a named legal entity, working support channel, clear privacy policy, deletion process, current pricing, and exact model information. Avoid pages that imply an official ByteDance relationship without evidence. Search for independent user reports, but treat forum complaints as leads to investigate rather than proof.
Seedances.co belongs in this category. It should describe itself as an independent tool and disclose the model or provider used in the live interface. That clarity helps users compare it fairly with other access routes.
Fal ai Replicate and Hugging Face listings
Developer marketplaces can mean different things. A Fal.ai or Replicate page may expose a hosted endpoint under that company’s billing and data terms. A Hugging Face model page may host files, while a Hugging Face Space may be only a demonstration or a frontend calling a remote API.
Confirm that a listing is live, names the exact model, identifies who operates the endpoint, and links to pricing and retention terms. Test a non-sensitive prompt first. Do not infer that a community Space is official or that a repository contains Seedance weights.
If you need programmatic access, read the Seedance API, open-source, and local-use guide before choosing an endpoint. If you need only a few clips, the additional technical layer may not help.
Compare the real cost
The price of one attempted generation hides the cost of failure. Use this formula:
Real cost per usable second = total generation, export, and processing cost divided by usable seconds kept.
Suppose a platform charges ten credits for a ten-second attempt. You make four attempts, keep six seconds from one, pay an export fee, and upscale the result. The useful cost includes all forty generation credits plus the export and upscale, divided by six seconds.
Also count time. A cheap queue that takes an hour can be costly during a client revision. A more expensive model that follows the prompt quickly may reduce total cost. Record attempts, failures, processing time, and the portion you actually used.

Check privacy and rights
Before uploading, answer these questions:
- Who receives and stores the input and output?
- Are files used for model training or product improvement?
- Can you delete them, and how long does deletion take?
- In which region is data processed?
- Does the platform allow commercial use under your plan?
- Do you have permission to use the person’s face, voice, logo, or source image?
- Does identity verification apply to realistic people?
Use non-sensitive test assets until the answers are clear. For client work, keep a copy of the terms and plan at the time of generation.
Choose the route that fits your workflow
Occasional creator: Choose a transparent web interface with a small test allowance, straightforward export, and a clear privacy policy.
CapCut editor: Check whether Seedance appears in your current CapCut product and region. An integrated edit can save file handling.
Privacy-sensitive user: Prefer a provider with explicit retention, deletion, and processing-region controls. Do not assume “cloud” or “official” answers the question.
Multi-model tester: An aggregator can reduce setup, but test whether it exposes comparable settings and exact model labels.
API developer: Start from official BytePlus documentation or a clearly named hosted provider. Verify rate limits, failed-job billing, and data handling.
Run a safe first test
Use a prompt with no private face, client product, or copyrighted asset. Request a short clip in the ratio you actually need. Before clicking Generate, take a screenshot of the model name, controls, credit charge, and any export notice.
After the job finishes, record generation time, downloaded dimensions, codec, watermark, and whether the prompt was followed. Open account history and deletion controls. If a failed job consumed credits, check whether the refund rule is documented. Send one ordinary question to support and note whether the response identifies the operating company.
This small test tells you more than a homepage. Repeat it on your two most plausible providers with the same prompt. Choose the route that gives you a usable file, understandable terms, and a workflow you can repeat. Do not move sensitive work until the provider passes those checks.

Frequently asked questions
What is the official Seedance website
ByteDance publishes Seedance information at seed.bytedance.com. Consumer access may appear through products such as Dreamina or CapCut. Seedances.co is an independent third-party site.
Is Seedance available in the United States
Availability can vary by product, region, and account. Check the current first-party product page and the interface after signing in.
Are Seedance on CapCut and Dreamina the same
They may use the same underlying model family while exposing different versions, inputs, defaults, credits, and editing tools. Compare the exact model label and settings.
Can I use Seedance for free
Some platforms may provide trials or recurring credits. Verify download resolution, watermark, queue, and commercial conditions before generating.
Are third-party Seedance sites safe
Safety depends on the operator, terms, technical practices, and your use. Check identity, privacy, deletion, support, pricing, and model disclosure. Begin with non-sensitive material.
Seedances.co offers an independent third-party route for AI video creation. Review the live model label, price, privacy policy, and export conditions, then use a short non-sensitive test before a larger project. Save the original prompt and downloaded file from that test. If you later compare another provider, reuse the same input, duration, ratio, and quality target so differences come from the service rather than a changed brief.
